Hi friends! In this episode I talk about radical honesty, prolonged adolescence, personal growth, and how when we are in our integrity and honest with ourselves and others about who we are and what we want… a lot will fall away. As it should! That’s okay and it’s awesome. In this episode, I explain why.
Read MoreHello friends! In this episode I discuss negative mindset, complaining about stupid shit, and explain why and how a negative outlook and interpretive lens is ultimately linked to an external locus of control. If your locus of control stays external, you’ll likely suffer unnecessarily until you are able to heal and reorient. In this episode I give examples about all this, and how I recommend we orient and heal instead.
Read MoreGuess what! It’s election day in my home city of Toronto: Yes, we are electing a new mayor. In this episode I talk a bit about my own political journey over the last 10 years, how I turned from a leftist social justice warrior to a normal (Canadian) conservative, and why I think it’s important to read multiple books by people you assume you’re going to disagree with. Today’s North American political climate is very bizarre, full of thought police and cancel culture, and in this episode I outline what I hope we can all be and do for ourselves and each other instead: to move from curiosity and openness, and to be responsive to the current situation and present moment. Your politics may not be what you think they are, but you will never know that if you don’t give yourself permission to explore.
Read MoreHi all! First of all, HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE! After some chat about how to honour this magical moment, I discuss dating dynamics among men and women today, and remind women of the importance of keeping our standards high - respecting our own dreams for our lives and not allowing anyone to bully us out of our desires, no matter how cute they are.
Read MoreEveryone hates ghosting, it seems - well, except for me! In this episode I talk about abundance mindset, the importance of cultivating an internal locus of control, a widespread misplaced obsession with closure, and why I don’t think ghosting is that big of a deal, especially in the early days. Controversial, I know!
Read MoreIn this episode, I share a really confusing miscommunication blunder I experienced this week - fascinating! I talk about the importance of clear and direct communication, and how limiting beliefs are often a big contributor to miscommunication and misunderstanding. Everyone wins when we learn to challenge our limiting worldviews, communicate our truth, and take people at their word. In this episode I share a bit about how these things are connected.
Read MoreOkay, rant ahead! Consider this your warning! It hit me today that I’ve been teaching Magic Without Bullshit for 4 years, and I’ve heard the same excuse the entire 4 years - “I’ll do it next time.” Well, guess what? There may not be a next time. In this episode, I explain how this “later” attitude comes from a place of entitlement, complacency, and also taking creators for granted. I also relate this to how people take the clean environment for granted - while today Toronto has the third worst air quality in the world, and I wore a N95 outside to go get a coffee. My eyes stung like hell. When we expect things to always be around for next time - whether it’s the environment, our spouse, or a small business… we reveal some of our own mental weaknesses, and shoot our selves in the foot. We also are deluding ourselves - if we keep telling ourselves, “I’ll do it next year,” and it’s been 4 years. Step out of the delusion, and admit you really don’t care. Or maybe you do. If the time is now, email me - I’ll see you inside.
Read MoreOkay so this episode is a little bit of a rant… stick with me though. Over the last few years, witchy and spiritual spaces have been inundated with the rhetoric of the oppression olympics, a narcissistic over-fixation on identity, and an obsession with personal injury. In this episode I talk a bit about some of the conversations I’ve observed lately, particularly a knee jerk response to (and rejection of) “low vibe” and “high vibe” rhetoric. I give a contrary perspective, which is that we can accept ourselves no matter where we are on our journey. Shame is optional, and so is the rejection of happy and helpful concepts. A deep episode, lol!
Read MoreIn an era where identity seems to usurp everything… should women always support other women? Should people of the same identity always big each other up without thought? In this episode I look at both sides of this debate and offer my thoughts on how to exist amidst today’s tensions between identity and character.
Read MoreI said what I said. A confident person doesn’t try to undermine someone else’s confidence. A happy person won’t poke a hole in the balloon of someone else’s happy moment. It can be easy to feel insecure and get confused about what is what in today’s world of incorrectly used terms, and the conflation of confidence with arrogance. It’s important we all cultivate a balanced understanding of ourselves - our strengths, weaknesses, talents. Inappropriate humbleness has robbed the world of a lot of great art, writing, innovation, and more!
Read MoreI said what I said! If you find yourself lapsing into negativity and cynicism, this episode is a friendly reminder that no, that does not have to be a personality trait - it’s often a sign that there’s something hidden beneath the surface that needs a little love.
Read MoreIt’s happened to you, it’s happened to me - you know what I’m talking about. When you totally ignore the advice your tarot cards give you (“avoid that person/place/thing!”) and… it doesn’t go well for you, LOL. Sometimes - and um, maybe even often - the tarot can tell us stuff that we really don’t want to hear, and it can be sooo tempting to just ignore them and go live life. In this episode I explain how I too have learned this the hard way, as recently as… today! I also give tips for how to interpret and move through this kind of experience, why you shouldn’t beat yourself up, and what to pull cards on next.
Read MoreCheapasses!!! One of my biggest pet peeves. In this episode I explain why cheap people annoy the f**k out of me, and, perhaps more importantly, what cheap behaviour is actually about psychologically, and why/how it significantly holds people back in life.
Read MoreIn the wise words of Toronto man Drake, “imitation isn’t flattery, it’s just annoying me” - what a mood! In this episode, I talk about how annoying copycats can be, why copycats might be copying, and how we can best approach this kind of thing when it happens (spoiler alert: it involves protecting our peace).
Read MoreOk, I know I know - I can be a bit “take no prisoners” at times, but underneath it, I am warm and fuzzy. As much as I advocate a bit of a decisive cutthroat vibe at times, I do believe that feeling our feelings is important, and even deeply physically and emotionally healing. In this episode, I talk about the importance of feeling our feelings, seeing big feelings as gifts and lessons, and the importance of meeting our feelings with openness and curiosity.
Read MoreOk, I know - you may think affirmations are cheesy, but they’ve absolutely helped me switch up my life for the better. In this episode I talk about what affirmations are, how they work, and I give some simple and clear tips that you can use to create your own meaningful and impactful affirmations that apply to your own unique life.
Read MoreOkay, controversial opinion alert - the Law of Attraction is actually super spiritually useful and interesting! And! It is absolutely something anyone who is witchy can work with in their magic. In this episode I explain what the Law of Attraction is, why some folks hate it, and why I think it’s an awesome tool for anyone who does magic.
Read MoreIn this episode, I give a quick lil happiness tip: compliment strangers. Genuinely. From the heart. For no reason at all. I discuss why this raises our own vibration, and how it can ripple outwards to improve the lives of others. Cheesy? Yes. Awesome? Also yes.
Read MoreYes, happiness and joy are badass - it’s time that we admit this whole-heartedly instead of descending into a bottomless pit of misery and cynicism. In this episode I discuss why happiness is sweet, why we should all be joyful in public, and why shining brighter is kickass. It’s possible for you, no matter what you’ve been through: I promise.
