Is Witchcraft Ancestral Practice? | Sunday Service with Sabrina Scott on YouTube
Hi y’all!
As you may or may not know, some big witchy Instagrammers slandered me all over the big bad internet for disagreeing with someone who said, and I quote, “witchcraft is not ancestral practice for white people.”
Well, um… witchcraft absolutely IS ancestral practice for white people. Like, very much so.
I personally feel that witchcraft is ancestral practice for EVERYONE - if you go far back enough, people from all places and cultures practiced forms of witchcraft and magic.
Yes, witchcraft in English speaking countries takes a LOT from European and specifically British styles of magic (and Wicca, of course - which I address in the video, too) - learning about it is interesting! And! We also find magic of some sort, like, everywhere.
Since some massive creators decided to talk shit about me and my opinion (I won't be naming 'em), I decided to take the opportunity to devote this past Sunday's Sunday Service YouTube Livestream to the history of contemporary witchcraft in English speaking countries - specifically, to give y'all a bunch of reputable books to check out and read if you do wanna dive into the history of magic. My purpose here is to combat misinformation, to educate, and to inspire. There are so many history books about magic that it can be hard to know which ones are good, or where to begin!
While you absolutely don’t need to know the history of witchcraft to be successful in your witchcraft and magic and improve/transform your life with magic, if you’re a history nerd, just curious, or are lookin’ for a new night time book to read, I’ve got you covered. The history of magic is very rich and interesting, and - yes - 'white people cultures' are so, so important when looking at the history of magic, especially when we look at why most contemporary Western witchcraft looks how it does today.
You can watch the nearly 2 hour Sunday Service here.
Are you going to pick up any of these books? Have you read any? Would you add any to my collection?
Talk soon, and much love!
xx
